tag7988,

A MEP 'project is just a set of instructions -- which parts of which clips go where, what images, what transitions, what audio etc. To get a stand alone video you need to export' Go to 'File' menu >> 'Export movie' >> 'Video as ...'. There are many formats (avi, mpeg, quicktime etc) to choose from depending on what you want to do with you final product, and within each format usually many aditional option  such as output pixel resolution, quality etc. There are lots of presets to get you started and also options for making custom advanced settings.

You should also note the backup functions particularly 'File' >>> 'Backup copy' >> "Copy project and media into folder...'.

For more information search for export and backup in 'Help' at the top menu or in the pdf manual that comes with your program.

Regards,

Carl

Hi

. . . . . I want t save the video to disc without including the software that created it . . . .

To create a disc complete with menus that can be played in a DVD or BD player you use the Burn tab, select type of disc you want to create, select a menu style, pop a disc in the burner and click the Burn option - more instructions are in the installed pdf manual found under help.

Tip: I use rewriteable DVD and BD discs for the initial burn and testing.  Often you find you want to change something once you see the movie on a HD / large screen TV.  Once the movie is correct and a good burn has been made on rewriteable. I then Nero ( or ImgBurn  if you do not have Nero ) to copy the rewriteable to the permanent discs.  The rewriteables can then be used for the next project - saves money and wasted discs.

Also use good quality DVD-R or BD-R discs - cheap discs are a false economy.
