I am having problems updating my MAGIX movie editor, what should I do to fix the problem?

My MAGIX movie editor will not update properly. It downloads the update, then says it recognizes it, then opens the install program and says "Loading... Please wait..." and never gets any further than that. I am using windows vista on my system. I am currently using MAGIX Movie Editor Pro 11 version 5.5.3.3

I think the problem is that the Movie Edit Pro 11 was not released for Vista.

Magix Movie Edit Pro 11 was released in 2006. Microsoft Windows Vista was released in 2009. By the time Vista was released I think Magix was on Movie Edit Pro 14. Therefore the products would not have been retooled to work in a newer operating system. It could be that the launcher for the patch update tool does not recognize the operating system and either is in a string loop or aborts.

That is my theory...

Try downloading the update manually.

Go to this link:

http://support2.magix.net/customer/en

Log in and then hit the Download link. If your product is registered then you will be able to download it from this site manually.
