imported a video into Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 plus... and when I click play there's no sound, however the original video has sound when played through a video player... it's an AVI video... what can I do for it to play audio ?

The video file I imported that had no sound was a .AVI video file (as mentioned above)

What file type are you importing?

Well, all the .avi files I have; load with sound.

So this .avi file you have might have another codec or layer like DiVX or XViD added to it, or even a MPEG-4 layer. If it does, then perhaps the capture software used to make the video has done something proprietary to the format. I unfortunately can only discribe how loading an .avi file works for me.

Any of the .avi files I have were either downloaded from source sites that I used for extra content or things I have converted from other formats. The program I use to convert is Movie Edit Pro, so I probably have to dismiss those as I would think any file it exports it would import again. Regardless, all my .avi files load with sound.

Where was the original source for the .avi file?

If this is direct from a camera, what manufacture and model is it?
