Thanks for some people advise.
I did re-load the software and found problem with XP machines. I have since found that when it loads onto XP you have to go into the Window option at the top of the screen and select (standard) and this brings back some of the edit key options. Other XP uses may have had the same problem but windows 7 loads ok.
The next problem I have is that within the Media pool, In the Media/objects/Audio Temp file, In Windows 7 load I have a whole screen of sound affects to choose from but in the XP load I have just 6.
I am coming to the conclusions that Magic is not as user friendly on XP machine when you first start using it.

In Window XP the Media/object/audio temp have fewer sound affect that Win 7 machines.
