Why can't i get my free mpeg 2 codec? I've registered my product a dozen times and i still can't get an answer at all, why!!! I paid good money for this junk and it doesn't work at all, i cannot burn a homemade dvd because it asks for mpeg2 codec activation?? I registered my product and it says its already registered, then i go to get my acitvation code and it says i don't have any products registered, why!!! I am so mad with this junk, i should be able to have it working considering i paid good money for it.

Has anyone been able to contact these people, i've tried a dozen times and no one to talk too or any way to send an email other than their lousy forums.

I have been in contact with Magix for the 11 years I have been using their software.

Magix doesn't make the MPEG-2 encoder, and the company that does requires registration of the codec. Also, if you use an email like Earthlink or AOL, then that could be a problem as all these registrations and encoder mails are sent from a central server (not a human) but a computer. Earthlink has this spam detection utility that I know causes problems... one of the reasons why I left them and I heard AOL does something similar but on the front end, so it might block information from being sent to a server.

You should try calling them 305-722-5810 if in North America or try their LiveChat on the support page.

Did you get the message that the product was registered when you first tried to register it or after?

Your question infers that you have recently purchased MEP14, if so was it a brand new sealed box and unregistered?

You can also email  support@magix.net

Thanks for the tips, i bought this used in a box, seller used it once only. I have the serial number tag on the box and disk was like new. No other products registered with Magix other than this Pro 14. I registered this product the first time and it said software is now registered, yet when i go to activate or get my supposed mpeg2 codec, i says i have no products registered, hows that?  It keeps saying i have nothing registered, i don't understand this?

I bought this software a few months ago and never used it until today, thinking it would be easy to install and use, well it is not. I decided to try it  out and it installed perfect, it works but cannot burn a homemade dvd movie as it asks me to activate my mpeg2 codec. It wasn't cheap either, i paid 35.00 dollars for it and its useless so far?

The product is probably still registered in the previous users name.  Email Magix support to find out if this is so. The seller should contact Magix also and ask them to de-register MEP so as you can re-register it. If you cannot contact the seller then explain this to Magix.
