magix movie edit keeps crashing

I am trying to make a slide show and everytime i click on the folder with the pictures i get the following error message ' error in module "movieedit.exe" (load address : 0x00400000) to address 0x0069523a exception

0xc000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION

I have movie edit pro 12 and i am running windows xp.

Ok, V12... The only thing I can think of right off is that there is now a corruption within the windows system (possibly registry) that is causing this error to occur.

Just to test things, have you tried reinstalling the software? Perhaps it is just a .ini file problem. Reinstalling could help that out.
