This is a very old version of Movie Edit Pro from 2012.
This version does not support the HEVC/h.265 video format and resolution many drones use.
However, we need more information to confirm my initial diagnosis and be able to help with the issue(s) you are having:
The specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required, and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) you are working with if this is a laptop.
I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.
Download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips and post the results, see this tutorial on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required.
Hi John Baker, I had this magix pro 17 plus and I've upgrade my hdd to ssd on my desktop. I had to reinstall my Magix software due to some files missing. all work fine until i insert a mpg-4 video and try to update online for the one time activation function but comes up already registered-error code-24.
. . . . magix pro 17 plus . . . try to update online for the one time activation function but comes up already registered-error code-24 . . . .
Do you mean Movie Edit Pro 17 released in 2010, or Movie Edit Pro 2017?
Was the software registered with an older account with Magix, and a different email address? If so you need to use the old email address for the activation.
. . . . the only way i could get it to work was to carry out a ‘no loss’ mp4 file conversion . . . .
That would suggest that the original drone video format is one that is not supported by MEP MX, most likely they are h.265/HEVC encoded, which was not supported by MEP until the 2016 version.
Was the re-encode to h.264/AVC or a different container file format?
Pleased to hear that you are happy with the conversion results.
