MAGIX Movie Edit Pro MX Plus / MAGIX Movie Edit Pro MX Premium Advice Please

Whalebat wrote on 9/20/2011, 10:25 AM

I have watched all the promotional videos but would appreciate some input from anyone that may have used  the programs    Pro MX Plus    or    Pro MX Premium

1.  Are projects created in previous versions from Pro 15 Plus upward compatible with them?

2. Do they both have the "On Screen Recording" feature?

3. Do the differences between MX Plus and Premium make it worthwhile purchasing the Premium version?

Any advise from your experience would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Whalebat,

No experience with this version but compatibility with old projects should be no problem -- I've been importing MEP14 stuff into MEP17. You may have to use 'Manage movies' >> 'Import' rather than 'Open project' if MEP15 uses .MVD rather than the newer .MVP file format.

From my reading the Plus and Premium versions differ only in the addition of some 3rd party effects which are of value if you are going to use them.  I do like some of the NewBlueFX stuff! The Red Giant site claims very fast performance and use of multi-core processing etc.

I'd try out a free 30 day test download but it doesn't seem to be on the UK/US lists (yet) though version 18 (as Video deluxe MX) is available from the the German site. I'm going to have a look just to try out the intermediate frame calculations for slow motion.

Regards,

Carl
