Magix Music Maker 2026 Premium – Software Becomes Unresponsive

Rhynhardt-Louw wrote on 6/12/2026, 5:42 AM

I have tried to log a ticket, but the system keeps saying that my support ticket cannot be loaded. I tried different PC's and even different browsers to no avail.

I am a subscriber to Magix Music Maker 2026 Premium and am experiencing recurring issues where the software becomes unresponsive during normal operation.

The issue occurs intermittently and does not appear to be linked to any specific action. For example, it may happen when working on projects with multiple tracks loaded, or when I start applying effects to tracks or objects. At other times, the software becomes unresponsive without any obvious trigger.

To troubleshoot the problem, I have tested the software on three different computers and have tried all available ASIO drivers, including adjusting buffer sizes where applicable. Unfortunately, the issue persists across all systems.

I am confident that this is not a hardware performance issue, as I regularly run Pro Tools on the same computers without any stability or performance problems.

Could you please assist me in identifying the cause of this issue and advise on any available fixes or troubleshooting steps?

I would appreciate any guidance that may help resolve the software's unresponsiveness.

@Rhynhardt-Louw Do you use OneDrive on all computers? This can lead to problems if your projects are saved in a folder that get synchronized with the Microsoft Cloud.

What exactly means "unresponsive"? Does it no longer reacts to keyboard and mouse inputs?

Microsoft currently rolls out Windows updates which introduce MIDI 2.0. This can also cause problems if you have an older MIDI interface.

Hi SP,

Thank you for your response.

To clarify, I am not using OneDrive, Google Drive, or any other cloud-based backup or synchronization service on either of my computers. I am also not saving projects to any cloud storage location that could be synchronizing files in the background.

When I describe the software as "unresponsive," I mean that it freezes completely and does not react to any mouse clicks or user input. For example, if I click on the File menu, it can take five minutes or more before the menu opens, and sometimes it does not open at all. Similarly, when I click on objects or elements within the project, the software often fails to respond entirely. Then at other times the software works 100% fine.

To add to my frustration, I have been unable to log a support ticket with MAGIX. To be honest, I am extremely disappointed that after purchasing the software, I cannot access support from the developers. Your willingness to assist is greatly appreciated, and I am grateful for the help you have provided so far.

Try to disable the Text Cursor Indicator in the Windows accessibility settings. This will most likely solve your problem. In rare occurrences, this problem can also be caused by other background softwares which are accessing the text cursor, for example screen readers, clipboard managers, sometimes also firewalls/antivirus

I have just checked and my Text Cursor Indicator and it is already disabled in Windows

@Rhynhardt-Louw If you restart your computer, all background programs will be closed. For this, select the Restart option and not the Shut down option. If Music Maker then runs normally, it's caused by another program. If you start another software while Music Maker is running and then it gets extremely slow, you'll know which software causes the problem.

@Rhynhardt-Louw

Hi

This may be a Store cache refresh issue, try cleaning up the Store: -

Ensure you have a good connection to the Internet, then select Program settings, General options tab. Lower right is the Clean up Store... option

When the cleanup has completed Music Maker will restart, and refresh the Cache, this could take up to 30 mins depending on yout Internet connection speed.
