Magix Pro 16 crashes reliably when editing titles. Magix Pro 17 cursor doesn't move.

I've been trying to get support for Magix Pro Plus 16 without success, it's as if they make it as hard as possible to contact anyone. If I take a simple, short audio file, add a title and start messing with 3d distortion on the title - to make it zoom in I can GUARANTEE on my Windows 7 PC - native or in XP mode, it will CRASH Magix. I tried the same thing on a DELL laptop - and again - the program DIES.

 

I tried looking at Magix Pro Plus 17 even though they seem to have NO upgrade policy - which is a bit much considering the improvements are only minor....  and that's WORSE - when you play a movie, the cursor does not move along..


How do I get access to TALK to someone to resolve these easily repeatable issues - as against sitting in a forum endlessly going around in circles. This could be SUCH a good product if only it was reliable.

 

Also I have a directory on my DESKTOP called STUFF - nothign special about it - but MAGIX sees it as a directory called DESKTOP, not STUFF - surely by version 16 you'd think they'd be beyond issues like this...

As for the video project creation... I tried it, and it works for me. Maybe I am not doing everything you mentioned, so if you could let me know, I can test that out too.

In regards to the directory... do you mean you have a folder on Desktop called "Stuff"? I have something similar. I have a folder in desktop called "MAGIX Projects"

 

 

I also have an external drive where I save my data after a project is complete. I am not sure if this is the same situation as you. The program works the same way Windows does in terms of file command structure. Everything has a directory pathway. Desktop pathway by default is: C:\Users\Owner\Desktop, anything beyond that is a folder so it would be found in that directory path. I even went as far as to create a link to my external drive on the Desktop, and it finds that as well.

 

 

In Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus you’re saying that you cannot get the play cursor to move along, which mines does. Now, I know I also updated the program through a patch, so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it.

This leads me to believe there are issues with your system(s) that are in conflict with the software.

Can you post the specs of your system? Maybe we can look to see if anything stands out.

Also, are you running other software that does video editing, maybe it has something that resides in the start-up of Windows that is causing some conflict?

I am not sure about the crashlog, I do not know how to read those, you would need to send that into the MAGIX Support.

 

I added a folder to my desktop called "STUFF" to see if it would rename it in the program, but it didnt, when I open the Movie Edit Pro 16 Plus program, I now have a folder on the Desktop directory called "STUFF".

 

 

I am not sure what would be the issue with that.

 

Just to further test this issue with Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus... what format file are you playing back that you notice the timeline cursor is not moving?

Although I am not nearly as smart or knowlageable as john-auvil, The first thing I would try is to re-install your program.

But I would mainly stick and listen to what john-auvil says.

Yep.....john is right....safemode would insure that you installed all components succesfully and safely with out any other interuption.

Reinstalling is a great idea... maybe doing an installation from Windows Safe Mode insuring that no other software is in conflict with the install itself.
