MAGIX VIDEO DELUXE 2026 PREMIUM IS SEVERELY CRIPPLED ..DEFINITELY NOT AN "UPGRADE" FROM SONY MOVIE STUDIO 16......VERY DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST. IT WON'T IMPORT AUDIO PROPERLY AND IS A MESS! IT IS NOT AN UPGRADE. THE MOST DISAPPOINTING MONEY I EVER SPENT. NOT EVEN 4K !
Dan, yes, unfortunately you have fallen foul of the marketing gurus. Magix took over the Vegas line a few years ago. The Vegas crew decided to discontinue Vegas Movie Studio at that point, so Magix rebadged it's own editor and offered it as an "upgrade" to Movie Studio. As you have found, the programs are completely different, much to the annoyance of people like yourself. Magix Video Deluxe is a very capable program but does do things differently.
To complicate matters, Magix sold Vegas to BorisFX recently and there is a Boris forum.
If you want to stick with the Vegas workflow, you could investigate upgrades to Vegas Pro. The Boris forum to ask would be here:

And yes, Magix Video Deluxe does handle and export 8k video with ease.
