Movie edit Pro Plus 17 hangs during startup

I have been using Movie edit Pro Plus 17 Plus HD with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on my HP laptop, since August 2010 with no problems until late November/early December. I started the program and the program hangs during the splash screen showing, with the status line showing "Initializing Media Pool" and then the program stops and will not go any further.   I don't understand why the program suddenly quit working after weeks of normal operation?  I've checked my computer for viruses and none were detected.  I ran a registry cleaner and still had no success.  I tried what Lars -Gunnar suggested back on December 2nd 2010 and still did not have any success.
I currently have no problems running Magix Movie Edit Pro 15.
Runtime Error Message indicates that there is an abnormal program termination with videodeluxe.exe
Any suggestions?
I have completely uninstalled the program using Revo Uninstaller set to medium and rebooted and reinstalled Magix 17,  Still no luck.

It could be other software installed on your system that is running from start-up that is in conflict.

if you do a 'MSCONFIG' from the Windows Start, Run function and look under the Startup tab, you will see those programs that have been installed that start automatically when you turn on your computer.

One of those could be in conflict, though I find it odd that it wouldn't have caused a problem earlier... unless you have installed other software in that time period

That's a new one on me......Repost it as a question in this Q&A to see if others have had this problem...then scream at Magix.
