Movie template with BPM

Hi Guys,

Just bought this as was looking for an editor to replace my current editor: Sony Movie Studio, as that has no "auto-edit" functions.

Some freeware I got with an old Sony point&shoot camera was perfect for this, but I have never been able to find it since it was wiped from an old PC.... :(

Anyway, so now I am looking for software that would do both auto-edit (Muvee Reveal style), and bog standard editing of holidays, road trips etc. The most complicated thing I would historically do is picture in picture on Movie Studio.

Will MEP Do this? I see 3 separate tools that look like they do this, but sounds like a lot of work!! How do these three processes come together?

1. Scene Detection - does this function also consider sound? i.e. When there is no dialogue? Or do they only look at the visual changes.

2. Movie Templates - How long do these go? Up to 5 mins?

3. BPM Wizard - I like to synch vids to music manually, but would want the auto-edit to do this for me, a la Muvee Reveal, or Magisto mobile version.

Slightly lost and confused by all the options. Can anyone lay it down for me in simple terms?!

If you have not done so I would suggest you read the installed PDF manual available under Help.

No, from the manual 'the scene recognition function analyses the film for scene transitions and scans for drastic changes in the brightness and color distribution within the picture'.

A better way is to use the Slideshow Maker wizard it can be applied to as long a timeline as you require - Edit, Wizards, Slideshow Maker.

The Movie templates are too restrictive eg you cannot edit them further easily.

The only way to do this is to use the Soundtrack Maker wizard which has this option, otherwise you have to do this manually.

The BPM wizard is a different function - see the manual.

Hi John - I will be honest - I have read the manual. But I was not sure if I was missing something, or I misunderstood. I am much better at maths than English!!

My principal concern / potential annoyance, is whether I should have just bought Fast Cuts instead, and kept with my old version of Movie Studio... But Fast Cuts was more expensive - as is Muvee Reveal.

I just re-read my point on BPM - "I like to sync my video to my audio manually" - that is not correct. What I mean is I would like MEP to sync it for me!! Sorry for confusion.

The BPM Wizard and the Musical Cut Adjustment will do this I believe although I have not used it myself.
