If your TV has an output for like a VCR then yes... You could.

You will need the hardware for that as that is not something that computers just do... and at that if you get hardware you might want to look into getting a TV hardware device for your PC.

I have a Hauppauge WinTv device that actually allows me to pick up TV signal, now this will all change when they turn that signal off and broadcast using the setbox... but if you are wanting to record things from TV, I think you can using a capture device, and the output of your TV to the device.

The quality will not be the same, so do not expect super quality.

Thanks for that j-a - re: hardware - i have a scart lead coming from the sky tv box which goes to a conversion box which changes it to yellow, red output plugs which goes into a tevlon video capturer dongle which can take tv progs from the skybox which works with magix video only so far but no sound - i think only my sound settings are wrong rather than it not doing the sound completely but i dont know which settings to change within the magix settings, as it may do the tv too but which setting to change. But i will check out the software u suggest
