Hi

We need more information - how are you exporting the movie, what format are you exporting to, and what settings are you using.  A screen shot of the timeline and appropriate dialog boxes would also be useful.

I was using the "export video" section in the file menu and i tried AVI MPEG WMV Real Media and uncompressed. I also tried "audio and video mixdown"  and they all resulted in exactly the same result... the "old movie" FX vanished from the end result (but played normally in the timeline). I reinstalled the software but still the same..... BUT I FIXED IT :)  I assumed that a windows update had somehow affected the software so I downloaded the trial version of PRO 17 and installed that ... this worked fine and amazingly so did PRO 14 so it must've corrected a corrupt file somewhere :) thanks for your input and i hope this helps anyone else who unfortunately comes across this unlikely error.

Installing MEP17 would indicate that the problem was a codec issue.  MEP17 installs into a separate folder and IIRC only puts common items like codecs into locations which are shared with other installations of MEP.

Pleased to here you are OK now
