no sound on imported video file

i have imported a video file from my hard drive and it plays perfectly on

windows media player.

But there is no sound when played on the Movie edit pro 15

More information is needed:

Do you have this check box ticked?

What format is the video file - use GSpot or MediaInfo to analyse the file?

Are the required codecs available?

If you import other video files is the sound there?
