Pitch Bending and Speed Distortion after closing file "Drunken VO"

Sound Forge Edit Studio 10.0 Having the weirdest issue. One about one out of 200 files, playback is fine. Sometimes- I close out the file, when I re-open the same file, my voice sounds, as the client put it, "like a drunken sailor". Voice got slurred, pitch went normal to slow to normal...speed also went slow then normal then slow. So, something happened to the file between "X-ing" it closed and re-opening and/or sending it as an attachment.
Have been using the same set-up for years with no problem...until now. Thoughts?

@matt_locker-01. Are you sure it's the same setup? I mean, Windows 10 and 11 install updates regularly, which can lead to problems with very old software. Maybe try running Sound Forge 10 via Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Hmmmm....never knew there was such a thing. Are there quick step to post here that I can follow. Oh, I forgot to mention...in EVERY Sound Forge install (new C drive replacement and so forth), it only lets me open the program as an administrator. Not a big deal...but might help you to give me the steps to run Forge "7 Compatibility Mode".

Thanks-

Matt

@matt_locker-01.

To access the Compatibility option under Windows 11, right-click on the desktop icon for the program and go to Properties. See a screenshot from my installation of SF Pro 17 below; I would expect yours to look the same.
