I have a Pavilion dv6, same computer as you, just different screen size.

The Movie Edit Pro is not playback software; it is editing software, so it must read in the entire file because it is editing not just playing back. HD video files, particularly .mts files will play back jerky as there is just too much data that needs processed for reading AND playing back.

Another thing is HP itself. It has preloaded a ton of programs and applications that start on boot-up of the computer; some of these are very intrusive, which is somewhat well known from HP. On my system I have uninstalled the majority of these and use the MSCONFIG to alter the programs that actually get to start up.

Even though the playback is this way, when I finish my edit, and export, the file is smooth playback in Windows Media Player or on DVD/Blu-ray. You might want to try that and see if your export works that way too.

Thanks alot man i did some tweaking in the msconfig and it helped and yes my plackback in windows media is good perfectly smooth but if possible a list of the windows services safe to disable and also startup programs safe to uninstall or disable would be sweet do u know of where one is ?
