Problem Installing Magix Movie Edit Pro 17

I just bought Movie Edit Pro 17 and get an error when installing it on my Windows 7 (64 bit) machine. Here's what happens:

I load the CD into and a window opens that gives me options to install the software (and install other bonus features, too). I click the only option under "Install Program" that says install "MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 17". A second or two later, a MAGIX World pop-up alert window appears, stating, "E:\product\Movie_Edit_Pro_17_en-US_setup.exe" and "(-2)". If I click on the "OK" button, the dialogue box goes away and nothing happens. (Actually, it exits the install program when I click "OK".) No install, nothing, even though a progress bar is in the background stating, "Please wait, preparing installation..."

Any clues?

Thanks -

Magix has so many issues with MEP17 that I wouldn't even bother installing it. I installed it on 2 different machines (Win7 64bit, and Vista) I got the same errors on both machines. Magix finally returned my emails and told me that it must be something on my computer because "it is the most stable and error-free version they have ever created".....bull shit. I have since reinstalled MEP16 and given up on 17.

Good luck!
