proDAD VitaScene V5 PRO

Greetings,

Back in November 2023 I bought MAGIX Movie Studio 2024 Suite with Vitascene 5 as an addon. I used it on rare occasions to give atmospheric effects on some old clips. It worked as expected but I thought that for what I do it's too gimmicky.

I then, for some reason, bought MS2025 in May 2025 and Vitascene was picked up by the installation but I never used it.

Today I thought I'd give it another go and see what the transitions were like, and I'm still trying. I can get effects to works but transitions seem to be a no-no.

I've searched this forum, I've read Prodad's instructions, I've read the MS Manual, I've You-Tubed, I've Googled and I've had more than my fair share of cups of tea but applying transitions between clips with Vitascene escapes me.

Adding Effects to clips? No problem, so the Vitascene installation seems OK. I'm sure I'm missing some instruction somewhere but what I don't know.

Would it be possible for someone to knock together a short list of bullet point instructions, or something similar, on how to add a Vitascene transition between 2 short video clips; a task I thought to be easy 8 hours ago (at the time of writing)? I'd very much appreciate it.

Thanks John but it doesn't really help. I saw this topic but my problem seems to stem from not having the "additional fades" icon under Themes.

I've not tried uninstalling Vitascene and re-installing it unless I really, really have no choice as I'm not totally convinced it'll be worth it for me, but then again ....

Maybe I should re-phrase the question - is it possible to get the "Additional Fades" icon into Themes without re-installing?

Hi Andy,

I suggest that you simply install it again using the download button under Effects, Extra Effects.

I checked both MMS2025 and VDL2026 and under Templates, Transitions, I have one entry called: Additional fades. I don't see that in your image. Maybe someone knows why.

I have Vitascene 5 showing up under Additional fades, as well as in the transitions button on a transition as well as under Effects, proDAD Vitascene. Do you even have the latter?

Thanks for your replies both and yes John CB, Vitascene did show under Effects, proDAD Vitascene but nowhere else..

Yesterday I must have rebooted the computer at least a dozen times; both by restart and shutdown/start with no Vitascene icon showing and Vitascene performing effects OK but not transitions. There was no messing with installation files, just playing within the Vitascene window.

This morning I boot up the computer and VOOM, there is the Vitascene icon that works perfectly.

Frightening stuff.

I'll see what tomorrow brings 🙂

I have a vague recollection that the appearance of Vitascene was not immediate in the Additional fades after installation, and it needed 'something', probably 'just playing within the Vitascene window', to trigger VDL in to picking up the plugin correctly

Unfortunately VDL/MMS does not have a manual option to rescan plugins.

It's definitely there in VdL 2026 (I've just checked!)
