Should the existing file be used...

Former user wrote on 8/23/2011, 10:34 PM

When I go to burn a movie to DVD a window opens with the name of a file followed by the question: Should the existing file be used for the film [film name]. I then have two check boxes I can select:

"Rewrite chapter menus and chapter information"t and

"Rewrite film menus and navigation structure"

I then need to choose between the following buttons:

Encode All

Encode

Use

Use All

Cancel

I can not find a reference to this in help. I have no idea what it menues or how to proceed.

Help would be appreciated.

Hi,

It is easy the first time you create a dvd or B-R no file exist on the hard drive the software must create the DVD content called disk image. The second time you try to create a DVD of the same project the software has already a disk image on your hard disk if no change is needed you answer Use All.  if you have change something in your project you can encode only the change and avoid to encode all the project previously created.

Regards,

YR

Hi

Yes, confusing isn't it!

Using Search on our old MEP forum I found several similar queries. Alwyn explains it clearly on his web site. Here's a direct link:
