System requirements for 2026

I recently purchased Music Maker 2026 and am trying to learn it, at least a little, on version 34.0.0.6, and it keeps freezing and crashing on my system. Now, I suspect that my homebuilt PC, which was state-of-the-art in 2024, is no longer sufficiently powerful. But that is something I want to be certain of.

I have an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core Processor (4.50 GHz), 64GB of system RAM, and Windows 11 Pro. What I need to know is whether any of those components need to be upgraded to get MM26 to function correctly.

I'm going to look a bit deeper on my own and review the manual to see whether the listed system requirements are met, but I could use a little guidance here, as I'm an end user and not a technician.

@Michael-Hopcroft The computer is well above what is needed, but it's highly recommend to use an ASIO-capable external USB audio interface for everything regarding audio production on a computer.

Good to know. I'm using onboard sound, which is OK for my relatively untrained ear, but I can do better. My system is not reacting quickly, so I probably need a tune-up.

Which would be a good time to upgrade my sound if I can afford to get one. I have no idea how much full-system tuneups cost in Portland. All I know is I haven't had one in a very long time and I'm due...
