I have been trying to download/install the software on my computer since yesterday. Every time, it installs halfway and then hangs for hours and hours and never completes install
Hi Alfred, and welcome to the Movie Edit Pro user forum.
Assuming your Internet download speed is currently OK it could just be the amount of traffic on the server. During this global lockdown period there is probably a lot of people either trying this software as they have time or updating or upgrading their products.
Just try a different time of day. Also check your C: drive has sufficient free space. (2GBs).
Thank you for your response, I tried all your recommendations, the software just would not fully install on my computer. It gets to "installing 4 of 4" and it stays there for 10 hours with the circular stuff churning endlessly. Now when I try to uninstall it, it would not let me. And when I try to start a new installation, it tells me that there is an installation currently going on and I should finish with that. So basically, a software I got to quickly do some video editing before going back to work, would not install and the tech support is horrible. No one is responding from tech support.
All of Magix Support staff are currently working from home, I believe, so any response to support requests is bound to take longer than usual.
First, have you tried rebooting your computer? It is possible that something like a Windows Update has "got in the way" of the installation; in such case a reboot can often solve the problem.
If that doesn't have any effect please download and install Revo Uninstaller, point it to the folder where the incomplete installation currently is and allow it to uninstall everything associated with Movie Edit Pro.
Then reboot your computer again and retry the installation.
If there is still a problem, download and run this Microsoft tool, following carefully the instructions it gives.
