use, use all, encode, encode all

Hi there, just wondering, sometimes when I burn a video  something pops up that asking about a certain video and if it should be used for my video project. The options are use, use all, encode and encode all. You can also check if you want to reformat your dvd menu screen. Depending on which one I click, sometimes my videos work on the dvd player and sometimes not (and yes, I have switched it off of PAL). This only happens to some of my videos and I'm wondering why, which button to click, or if there's something I can do to stop it from happening. Thanks!

I use MAGIX Edit Pro 14 Plus

If you are not sure, what to do, use Encode all. Then, nothing will be skipped.

Encode all will not skip anything but what are the other options for?

not a very good answer,to know exactly what each does is to save time.  I agree with ibib,I'd like an exact answer please.

Im having the same problem however i cannot get it to work, did you ever figure out what settings worked?

Yes, I choose Encode All and it seems to work.  I'm still unsure what it means or why it happens, but that seems like the best option.

Here is what I can tell you. This is part of the smart rendering (smarter now in version 17). My assumption is that if you have a project with multiple videos and/or video(s) have used different encoders to create them you will receive this message.

Use: I believe this means just use the video in the format it is in (meaning the one or multiples that are different) - This is not something I would recommend as

Use All: I am not sure if this differs from the above. If anything, I think it does not adjust the ratio or resolution of each video.

Encode: This is for example if you have a project that you have made in Movie Edit Pro before and all the videos but one has been previously encoded then you could use this to encode just that one video, thus saving time on the encoding process.

Encode All: This is to do all the necessary steps (regardless if they have been done before) This is more time consuming, but in doubt, the best possible course of action as it will go through each step.

Alwyn explains it clearly on his web site. Here's a direct link:
