I will give that a try. It does appear that there is an audio file along with the mp4 file in the export destination folder if I remember correctly (I'm not at home right now to look). The thing is that I have never had the problem before. I have exported videos time after time and never had the problem. I will look in the other folders to see if other exports had an external sound clip in addition to the video clip. I don't believe I have seen them before though. I may have hit a setting that is now keeping added tracks from embedding into the video on export. I'll check on the MediaInfo when I get a chance. Thank you.

Thanks for the MediaInfo data, however i suspect this is the source (input) file you imported into VDL, it does have an issue, ie:

Frame rate mode                          : Variable

Maximum frame rate                       : 39.718 FPS
Real frame rate                          : 30.000 FPS

The framerate mode and FPS need fixing ie framerate mode changing to Constant and the FPS to 30 fps. The 'Real frame rate' in the abpve data is the set target, however the Variable Mode allows the encoder to vary the frame rate depending on the level of activity in the scene, thus giving the Minimum to Maximum fps range which is too high. You may find the audio goes out of sync with video especially if there is speech or vocals being recorded.

Use a video converter such as Handbrake to convert the video to Constant frame rate 30 fps.

The MediaInfo data I asked for is that of the exported from VDL, ie the file in the destination folder which has 'no sound'.

I wouldn't bother doing any conversion at this point; we need to see the MediaInfo of the exported file.

Also, a screenshot of your timeline with the video and the extra audio (song) would be helpful.

You may not be aware that you can display the audio from the video on a separate track: go to File>Settings>Program and on the "Video/Audio" tab, set it up as follows:

@AAProds @johnebaker  I would hate to have to do conversions when my movie editor should be doing what it normally does, export a video with sound, as it has always done. It's only external sound that I drop on the track below the video that will not play. Sound that is already in video footage is fine, like someone talking etc.. I changed the setting as you described above but it didn't make a diffence. Here's is a screenshot of my track. How would I do a MediaInfo report of the exported file to provide?

Thanks for the image of the timeline, there is nothing obvious why you are not hearing the Dan Lebo Lebowitz audio track, assuming the music is heard clearly when playing the timeline and no audio settings have been changed for track 3 in the Mixer, where you should see the indicated level meter green bars moving when you play the timeline.

As it happens I have the same audio track for some time, however it would appear to be from a different source - the name is different.

The same way as you did for the original source video file, ie the video file in the destination folder which you do not hear the music in.

Unfortunately it may be a necessity when you experience out of sync talking or vocals as a result of high variability of the framerate in Variable framerate video files, the case of the source file the framerate is varying between approximately 50% and 132% of the target framerate of 30 fps.

This level of variation, is IMHO, excessive and can be a common issue with audio sync in many video editors.

A variation of less than plus/minus 10% in the framerate is usually acceptable for maintaining audio sync.

-Magix will not export a separate audio file during an export. There will only be one exported file, the combined video+audio. In your case, the audio will be (should be) a combination of the audio on track 2 (ie the audio from the video) and the audio on track 3.

Very true, and worse, it messes with, and, by default, takes over the file paths in order to backup files, 3rd party alternatives, such as Google Drive, do not mess with the filepaths, they are not an integrated feature of Windows.

The MediaInfo data suggests the file is 'local', if it is in OneDrive then the file path should be:

C:\Users\bowpr\OneDrive\Documents\. . . . . . .

@AAProds @johnebaker I created a trial folder on my desktop and exported the mp4 into that folder alone (no other files in the folder except the mp4. The sound from track 2 was finally there. That's good to know. Thank ya'll. At least I know the work-around instead of having to fight the technical stuff that I'm not very knowledgeable on. I appreciate it.

Also, you might find it useful to be able to see the audio waveforms of your files; right-click on them and choose "display waveform" or you can set the option automatically: in the setup box I posted earlier, tick "automatically create waveform on import".
