Video much longer then content

Backstop wrote on 8/5/2011, 11:36 AM

When i put a video on the Timeline and play it in the Preview window in the upper left of the Magix 16 screen, it plays ok, but continues playing several minutes past any real content in the video. When it plays past the content it just plays on showing a black area.

When I look at the video on the Timeline it shows markers at the end of the content, but the Timeline continues on with black frames past the end markers.

I have tried cutting the last couple frames with content in them, from the end. But the same problem continues; the video still plays past the content in the Preview window and it has a long area of black frames at its end.

This happens with several video clips when each one is put on the Timeline all by itself. The videos at MPG.

Help would really be appreciated.

Hi

Sounds like there is or was a clip further down the timeline which has extended the timeline beyond the clip you are adding.

To get rid of the excess use a left click only  at the end of the last clip in the bar as shown in this image

You should get the blue bar extending from the end of the clip to the end of the timeline.  Press Alt + Del to get rid of the selected range.

Hi,

Reason your timeline contains a clip or a picture far away on right side end , you can try to zoom and find the object or simply use CTRL A to select all check the right end side the last object on tiimeline at the end of selection. Or you can use the mouse and select with a draw rectangle on time line. Definitively you have something on time line to extend the movie playing black frames. (Check also the movie length in properties and compare with the visible movie length on timeline.

Regards,
