I was investigating an issue where a Sony XAVC video file played but not its associated audio. I found this old post from 2023 where the OP had the same problem. He provided sample files which are still available to download. The OP indicated that he was using VPX from 2018. This would probably make the version he was using VPX9 or VPX10.

Both @Gid and @CubeAce tested his files in VPX14 and MMS2023. The video clips played with sound.
The OP was prepared to upgrade VPX to version 14 but discovered that if he captured his video with 16 bit rather than 24 bit the video would play with sound on his old version of VPX. He was happy to change the settings in his camera and continue using his old version of VPX.
I decided to test his sample files using VPX16. Both sample videos played but without sound. I then converted the videos' audio to ACC 16bit and both samples played with sound in VPX16; the same as the OP's old version VPX9 (or 10).
But has the software gone backward, since VPX14 and MMS2023 both played the files without alteration? Then again it could be my system/computer rather than VPX16. Can someone with VPX16 validate my finding before I reach out to Magix Support?
Thank you. 🤓
