VST Plugin Bypass Automation

Ok...can someone for the love of everything holy chime in here???!!

I'm trying to automate an inserts on/off on a filter plugin that I put into a submix track. I see nothing on any automation parameters that allows this. I see a plug in (bypass) at the top of the plug in gui...but also can'f find that automation choice anywhere within track automation choice availability. HOW the heck can I do a hard bypass and automate?

thanks in advance everyone...

Dennis

@dennis-ferrer Suspending a plugin allows it to clear it's buffer, it's internal variables or update it's latency which can throw a DAW off and lead to CPU spikes.

You need to do a workaround, for example using the plugin as an object effect, so it ends after the audio object is over, or create a second track without the plugin and divide your audio between the two tracks or you need to automate an AUX track.

Alternatively, if the plugin has its own bypass feature, you might be able to select it as a target for an automation lane.
