When I try to perform any editing functions in movie edit pro 17 my computer freezes and/or hangs. Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do to fix this?

I"m about to give up on this program because every time I try to edit a video, it ends up hanging and I have to use the task manager to close the program and then all of my work is lost!  Please help! Thanks :)

I haven't had any freezing with the software.

Do you know if you have enough resources to run the software? I know one of the major complaints I had was when I bought a new laptop, it had so many things that started automatically that it left me with a bare minimum amount of resources. I had to actually uninstall some things and use the Windows MSCONFIG utility to turn off others from starting automatically.

Once I did that, I noticed a night and day difference in performance... that’s not just with the Movie Edit Pro, but with the computer in general.

The problem you are having could be a conflict with other applications you have installed or perhaps your system not having enough resources to process the information.

Do you know what file format you are using for your video material? It could be that the system does not have enough power to process and handle that information.

My suggestion would be to write support and request a syscheck, so they can help you identify any outstanding problems.
