why does movie edit pro 14 not work with windows 7

I cannot get edit pro 14 to work in windows 7.

It starts to load, then tells me that drivers are loaded, but i need to shut the computer down and restart. I have dine this several times, but with the same result.

Usually the answer could be: Because Movie Edit Pro 17 is the current version and Movie Edit Pro 14 is 3 years old....3 years ago there was no Win7.

On the support side you can download several patches, but I am unsure if this will make all functions work....
