Why when burning a dvd is the audio out of sync with the video?

After saving smaller parts of one whole video into avi. files. I then open a new project insert the files in order and burn a dvd. But the sound doesn't match!, What do I do!!

Does the sound match when you play it in edit mode?

Yes, everything is fine in edit mode.

I have found that sometimes files within a project can become corrupt and I need to do what you did by exporting and starting a new project. Try to stick with mpeg4 if possible. If you have the space exporting as non-compressed (raw) video is best as it does not degrade the video when re-importing. These files (usually AVI. can be very large as they are not compressed so make sure you have lots of room on your hard drive to store it for the transfer. Confirm the project will burn before you delete the large file.
