@Gid That's right. I myself have Video Deluxe 2024 Plus and Video Deluxe 2025 Premium on the same PC. But if I were to install Video Deluxe 2026 Plus or Premium, then either Video Deluxe 2024 plus or Video Deluxe 2025 premium would be overwritten. That was the starting point of my answer. But again, you are right.

Best wishes,
Rob

Hi Andy

. . . .  the latest being @johnebaker's reply to @hdrechsel18's topic re his Mastering Suite when he said he'd look at a trial . . . .

Both @Gid and @Bol have answered the main reason why @hdrechsel18 should take care,however there is another concern, that only be determined by installing and trying the trial version of MMS 2025 of VDL 2026, ie compatiblity with the computer CPU and GPU which are below the minimum specs for for both programs.

@johnebaker

You've confused me.

I only used your quote to @hdrechsel18 when replying to @AAProds about a trial uninstalling an existing program, the relevant line of yours being "Installing the trial version will replace the installed version and reversion, if not compatible, will mean a re-install of MMS 2024"

Thanks Gid and Bol for clarifying ithe situation for me.

No longer does anyone have to speculate. The release of VPX 17 and VD 2026 is now. And the websites reflect what is new.

Hi Andy

With respect to the Captcha giving you some aggro, this is usually because as you click an individual image it may be replaced by another image, which may also contain the requested item.

If you miss one then you have to start again.

@AAProds, @Reyfox

I would suggest we use the more generally accepted acronym, as used in the other European language forums, for the program VDL, to avoid connotations with an infectious disease.

When I was at school,a long time ago, we were taught that Deluxe was spelt as 2 words De Luxe, sometimes hyphenated, this has fallen out of favour to one word.

@johnebaker ok with VDL, although on the website, that is not how it is spelt out. I hadn't thought of that "disease" thing....

Hello, @Reyfox, @AAProds, @me_again, @johnebaker, @johnebaker,

When was Magix released?

Magix products and services were first offered in other European countries and the US from 1997 onwards. In 1997, the company's first video editing software, Magix Movie Edit Pro (also known in Europe as "Magix Video Deluxe"), was released. I can't help but call it Magix Video Deluxe. See the Magix website: MAGIX – Software for video editing, music production, photo editing.
Video Deluxe is usually abbreviated as "VDL" for convenience, just like with you Magix Movie Study as MMS. This is what AI says: See image

Kind regards, Rob

@johnebaker

it may be replaced by another image

I know that John. As I said earlier, I fill in lots of these thing on various forums and sites. Magix is the only one to give me this problem. I've even screensaved the login process and watched it back - all ticks appear to always be in the correct place or the correct square.

Maybe it's my system that Magix doesn't like. I don't know why though if that's the case. It's only been happening for the past.couple of months or so and I've not changed my security settings.

@me_again

Hi Andy

. . . . Magix is the only one to give me this problem. . . . .

I have the same issue with reCaptcha on multiple sites, I find that many of the images used, especially the Bus and Bike challenges can be difficult to determine if there is the object being looked for in the image.

Not all websites use reCaptcha which sends the users response back to Google servers for Pass/Fail verification, I prefer the 'pin the tail on the donkey' or slide the jigsaw piece types.

From this German site; https://lizenzguru.ch/magix-video-pro-x17.html

I found the following comment interesting in that one can us VPX to upgrade to Vegas Pro

I was wondering if MMS/VDL owners had the same opportunity to upgrade to VPX or would they have to purchase VPX at its full price? Unfortunately, I personally cannot test this scenario with my own account since I already own versions of MMS, VPX and Vegas Pro. So if there is a member who only owns MMS but not VPX, would you kindly go through the purchase process to determine if you are eligible for the upgrade price rather than pay full price? Thanks. 🙂

My second question; excluding plugins and the Hub, were there any new updates/enhancements specific to VPX17 which were not included in VDL2026? I didn't see any myself, but I may have missed something.

Hi @Gid, thanks for confirming that one can upgrade to Vegas using MMS or VPX. I'm just wondering if MMS users have the same option to upgrade to VPX?

Gid wrote on 6/7/2025, 12:24 AM

@Can-Dive Yes, MMS to VPX is the correct/direct route for upgrade so that's an obvious, MMS users can upgrade to Vegas, VPX users can upgrade to Vegas. &! Vegas only users can purchase MMS or VPX at the upgrade price.
