Liner notes :

No FX , No Loops , No external sounds , No external MIDI

made using only the computer keyboard , mouse and Music Maker's MIDI Editor .

baroque or renaissance  theme

made using  2  Magix's  synthesizers :
Concert Guitar and World Flutes .

got a book on basic  music  theory concepts ,...
( music books don't write songs )
seems to me ,
knowing everything about music theory will
allow someone to  Score Sheet Music .
but that still doesn't help anyone to
write\( come up with ) , a melody .

this is a basic book to get started :
ISBN  978-1-78361-996-2

that book has some Typo's , and it needs a little
extra supplemental info . It is a good
starting book to study .

the book won't  help to write a melody , as that
needs to come from you and me , using our brainiac .

have i ever made a great melody ?  No .
but i do know some things about basic  music theory .

i am a big fan of the  Music Synthesizers .
i never use loops nor external sources , cause that would just
"get in the way" , of trying to do something original .

as you may have heard on commercial  albums
( just listen to the "Flip Side" vinyl album context ) ,
not every song is a winner ,...not so easy to do .

I can read music notes and have read many books. This is only help --- it is not music. Your lines about grades and books are ok.

But you write: "i am a big fan of the  Music Synthesizers .i never use loops nor external sources , cause that would just "get in the way" , of trying to do something original ."

Sorry, I think: this is nonsense!
It's important how to use short loops. So you can do that too Loops make creative music.

fine arts . too diverse to try an make something New from canned modules . just can't be done . music , movies a painting ,....the only thing we end up with is frank'N-music , frank'N-movies , frank'N-paintings . I don't even want to make a loop with the synthesizers for my own use .

I could use one of the drum synths and make a HD .wav percussion loop , but to me , that will "tin can" my efforts . I couldn't even use my own loops :) . maybe that's just me . or maybe I don't know how to approach using loops .

the other synth people native-instruments and Vienna symphonic library do not promote using loops . you better know something about music if you want to go there . Vienna is really intimidating , if I had Vienna , I wouldn't know what to do with it . ( a music teacher would be in hog heaven with Vienna )

I admit , using HD pro quality sound loops can make some really good sounding stuff , no doubt . but here is ,...is this a dichotomy ? the synthesizers are pro sampled instruments , played by pro musicians . wow ! can't beat that . using a synth is similar to using a loop , it's just that using the synth it is now up to someone to orchestrate every note , chord and rest . The synthesizers are the only way for someone to "Try Their Hand" at making something truly original .

I find it much more challenging and academic , by using just the synths . I wish I was a full bang music person . The synths are "hog heaven" , at least for me .

the best song I have heard so far here , is the Jazz New Orleans song . based on making that melody has high merit . don't care to much about the mixing efforts , cause if they have the melody , then they have the song . and where did that melody come from ? someone's brainiac .

if you want , drop an ISBN number to a music theory book that you recommend . right now I am not sure of a next book to get .
