Greetings Magix community,

It is that time of year again when Halloween season is upon us.

This music video is a tribute to the holiday and an autumn event that helps us face the darkness of the season and the darkness that can affect us in our daily lives.

Children are out trick-or-treating, pumpkins are everywhere, and the fall season has come.

I had created, performed, and produced my version of 'They're Here' as part of my 'Mystery Novel' album in 2018. This version which has been extensively remixed and remastered for Magix has a much improved sound with additional sound effects added. The big spooky organ sound was produced on my vintage Ensoniq SQ-1 keyboard and rack synthesizer that I enjoyed creating music with for many years.

I hope you will enjoy this music-video. I had much fun over the past week producing this piece. And of course the added imagery to this instrumental song brings that musical idea to life including some new sounds that were added.

'They're Here' Mark Kostora 2018 remixed and mastered for Magix 2025

My thanks to the digital artist that have made their Halloween imagery and sound effects available to me for the production of this music-video.

My best and Happy Halloween!

Mark ;)

Hello Mark
That's a spooky piece.
It's perfect for Halloween. The organs are really cool; they enhance the spooky factor with the melodies.
Cool idea

Yes, what wonderful spooky fun in both picture and sound! Very cool images in your video! And the music is really well done; you could easily imagine it accompanying a horror movie or two! A Macabre Carnival in Sound

This Halloween tribute delivers exactly what it promises β€” a playful descent into spooky theatrics. The carnivalesque keyboards set the stage with eerie whimsy, while ghostly howls and startling chords punctuate the atmosphere like jump scares in a haunted funhouse. The musical progressions build tension with mounting fear, culminating in maniacal cackles and a thunderclap finale that feels both dramatic and delightfully over-the-top.

The accompanying macabre images and animations are well chosen, amplifying the mood without overwhelming it. It’s a piece that knows its role: not subtle, but spirited β€” a fun, theatrical nod to the season.

@Philip-J

Hallow Philip ;)

You certainly have my appreciation for your comments and your very noble and clear vocabulary. You have stepped into my haunted funhouse and got the musical thrill that I hoped will come out of this piece!

And so nice to see an old instrumental song of mine come back to life with even better capabilities in sound and the added imagery. Why are we so willing to even enjoy the things that haunt and scare us on this holiday and in the music?

After some research I learned that the saying 'trick or treat' that kids give us at the door actually originated in Canada. The 'strenuous fun' or not having it of Halloween is the mischievous pranks that I would have to face if I don't dish out the treats requested. Hopefully my 'They're Here' piece gives my listeners both of the same and they can be satisfied that this Halloween can be a Happy one ;) - lol

With my best wishes ...

BOO ... moo ha ha haw!!!
