dvd image burn fatal using files (avi/mp4/mkv) not recordings

mark-perry ha scritto il 24.11.2020 ore 07:51

DISCLAIMER this is purely experimentation

any recordings from a vcr source for a dvd creating an ISO is fine.

testing with PAL 720 576 4 x 3 as an export

i created to projects, an AVI (640 x 480 25 fps, 10 min)and an MP4 as sources (same). i inserted it into the timeline and that gave me the aspect prompt which i chose not to. nothing done at all, straight to the burn window chose DVD, next the DVD Burning window create ISO prompt, starts then 1 second later Error Encoding The Movie and finished.

i tried exporting as a magix movie again it failed within a second

any theories answers or guidance

Hi

Hi

. . . . straight to the burn window chose DVD, next the DVD Burning window create ISO prompt, starts then 1 second later Error Encoding The Movie and finished. . . .

We would need more information ie:

  1. the Burn log of the burn that failed - the log file is the dbk.log file located in

    C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Program name/version\.

As the log will contain a lot of burn entries we only need the section starting with the date and time up to and including a few lines after the line with the actual error on it for the last burn that failed - this should be near the bottom of the log file.

  2. a MediaInfo analysis of the source video clip - post the results from the Text view

  3. which DVD menu template did you use?

  4. Your computer specification and MEP version details -please put these in your signature so we do not have to keep asking for them or have to go hunting past posts - see my signature as an example.

i even tried Wondershare Uniconverter and burned that file as an ISO, unzipped then imported it as a dvd movie into MEPs timeline, same nothing done, when to author it (chose dvd, standard pretty menu, no buttons or sub menus etc) then the Burning Window and that burned (an ISO) successfully)

obviously this could be an exhaustive process just to get a source/or sources for a project to be authored successfully

Hi

Thanks for the information.

The log file you have posted looks to be the videodeluxe.log file not the dbk.log file.

However more concerning is:

In the log file you posted, the Chinese characters in it translate to meaningless comments which have no connection to what information the program actually stores.

Is this still MEP 17 and is it a genuine copy of the program?

The AVI file info also looks odd - it would appear to have been converted (from some other format?), or is a Sony Walkman portable media player file.

Downloaded file from internet as that format so its not being prepared then downloaded by me, it came from Darcyf1.com uploaded in 2014. I noticed it plays fine on laptop but on my Laser blu ray player the picture is an error message but the audio plays so I thought I'd try and fix it.

MEP is genuine from the website and downloaded, I found it strange too with the log file when you insert a line into Translate its identified as Chinese and sounds like nursery rhyme, whever thats cos of the video file dunno. I assume you meant the view log button immediately after it fails and that opens a txt file.

The only oddities I don't understand on the files are the following.

Mark. In the file info you show here the file say it in progressive and yet in the audio it says audio is aligned on interleaves.

In the file on the net the following line towards the bottom of the file reads '[Export - Engine]: ReadOneCompleteInterlacedFrame: GetVideoFrameFromVIPForCPU delivers a wrong BITMAPINFOHEADER਍'

I'm wondering if the two are connected somehow and if the file was originally was interleaved but now not.

Ray.

Hi

Can you confirm which version of MEP you are using.

I just tested burning a project in MEP 2021 and found there is no dbk.log file created - the data is now in the videodeluxe.log file in the same location as I previously mentioned, which would be the same file as the view log button is offering.

Despite the junk text in your file it looks like you are also using MEP 2021, if so what version number is it?

Hi

Please do not post images with out removing personal information, in your last post you were showing your serial number, I have deleted the posts.

Version 19.0.1.23 is Movie Edit Pro 2020.

I suggest you contact Magix through the Support page, link is at the top of page - see here how to navigate through it, to raise a support ticket regarding the Chinese in the log file.

Did you convert the file to MPG? If not try it - you need to get both video and audio into different formats, which rules out MP4 as a possible format - the video most likely would not be re-encoded and the audio stream would only be stripped out into a separate stream.

understood, only giving you what you wanted and proving that it was legal.

as previous comments, i tried (to find a format that MEP might accept) to use that original file in Uniconverter to create an DVD ISO, unzipped it, inserted it (like importing a DVD movie) into the MEP timeline and that successfully created an DVD-ISO

Hi Mark

. . . . understood, only giving you what you wanted and proving that it was legal. . . . .

Touché - I did not doubt your word, we only needed the version number to see if it was patched up to the latest version.

. . . . to use that original file in Uniconverter to create an DVD ISO, . . . . inserted it (like importing a DVD movie) into the MEP timeline and that successfully created an DVD-ISO . . . .

A somewhat round about method of getting a MPG file, VOBs are MPG with a different file extension - a straight conversion to MPG should also have worked - however it worked which is good news.
