Video Deluxe 2019 is stuck after clean install?

Yes, i have 32GB RAM and now its managed by windows so its around 11GB and that should be fine.

About the graphics; you want me NOT to use my Nvidia 4GB card, but let MEP use the onboard UHD630 card.

  • I enabled this card again in my bios.
  • I downloaded the correct and latest drivers for it on the HP site.
  • I put the Windows settings on: Power Saving for the onboard card.
  • With a lot of patience i can come to the "display-option" tab in MEP and change it for compatibilymode to standard mode (Hardware Direct3D) but when i want to save it, is says; (translated from dutch to english) "the Hardwareacceleration is de-activated. Possible cause wrong drivers of the software cannot handle this. Install latest drivers..blah blah..."

The program does NOT run any better (or worse) then before and i still cannot use it proporly. Any idea to upgrade to the latest 2020 software of Magix? Can i still use my new 2019 key for this?

Do a simple test. Remove the Nvidia 4GB card and see if MEP runs any better.

I still have these problems.. is there anything new i can try? i really need a solution and i need to open old Magix Video Deluxe Premium projects. If someone can call me for support (i would pay for it!) please?

@Erik-Arends

Hi Eric.

In theory your system should be more than capable of running the program.

Old projects may contain effects that no longer exist or have been updated and could cause problems when trying to open them.

The only thing I can think of now (assuming nothing new has cropped up) is if you have overclocked your system. The only time I played with overclocking none of my video editing programs ran without problems. The system was stable but not all the programs running within it.

Magix Support I think is infoservice@magix.net.

i'm now trying to scrubb the entire pc, regedit, all folders in appdata, etc... and do a reboot, new installation and get back to you... i dont have any problems with all my other software (or hardware) and i'm an advanced user. only Magix software is unstable so i would really like to fix this once and for all.

Hi Eric.

If it is only happening when opening projects made with older versions of the program then the problem seems to point to the projects no longer being compatible with the new program. Even some of the Magix internal effects may have been updated causing this.

If new projects are not effected then I doubt any reinstall will cure that.

Hi Eric.

A further thought.

Perhaps send an email to Magix and ask if old projects from your previous version are capable of being opened first before trying anything as drastic as trying to repair damage that may not be there.

Use infoservice@magix.net

haha, my new projects are also stuck.. i rebooted the machine after my cleanup-job and i can now enter the main screen but when i click "effects" or "audio" for example, the entire program just freezes. i can kill it with ALT+CTRL+DELETE and after entering the program again i can send a report but also this screen freezes once in a while. could my graphic settings be wrong?

Try resetting MEP to defaults:

File>Settings>Reset program settings to defaults

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

System 1

Windows 11 v23H2 severely modified by Openshell and ExplorerPatcher

Power supply: 850W Cooler Master (should have got modular)

CPU: Intel i7 13700K running at 3400mhz, cooled by a Kraken 2x140mm All In One liquid cooler.

RAM: 64gb (2x32gb sticks) G.Skill "Ripjaws" DDR4 3200Mhz

GPU 1: iGPU UHD 770

GPU 2: NVidia RTX 3060Ti Windforce 8gb

Onboard IEEE1394 (Firewire) port

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4770 (512mb) which is ignored by MEP

Hi.

If AApods suggestion doesn't work also try to make sure your computer has internet access when the program is running and that you have the security scans for the program in Defender and / or your antivirus set not to scan the program folders as that has been known to cause problems on some systems.

in short; i did everything. file rights are okay, also temp rights are okay. I will buy another graphics card from another brand with different drivers to test if that's the case... this can take a while so i'wil get back to it later.

CubeAce schrieb am 03.02.2021 um 18:37 Uhr

Hi Eric.

That may be one way to go. First though do you know if you have both GPUs showing up in the MEP program settings page?

If not, one could be disabled in the bios.

You said earlier you had a nvidia 1050 graphics card but that it had 4GB of ram. When I look up the card specs it says it has 2GB of DDR5 vram. The Ti version has 4GB of DDR5 ram which should be a sufficient amount of ram although the specs say to use a 1060 nvidia or higher if editing 4K or above footage. HD material should work with the 1050.

Also you report when you only have Windows running you are seeing 8GB of ram being used. I only see just over 6GB with only Windows open. I wonder what else is running in the background?
