Hi and welcome to the forum.

Which version number of Movie Edit Pro are you using - see under Help, About?

Which codec is the program asking you to activate? A screen shot of the popup telling you that a codec needs to be activated may help.

If you are being asked to purchase the codec eg the HEVC (h.265) then the Error code -24 message would suggest that the email address used to purchase is not the same, or has an error in it, as the one the program was registered.

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Unfortunately you have not given us much information about the problem! We assume you are running Movie Edit Pro or Magix Movie Studio 18 or 2022, but other than that we are rather in the dark.

However, the error message you are seeing (code 24) is dealt with in this Support Page. Does this help?

Thanks, I was not quite sure how much to put on a public forum. I have Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013.

As I could not get thuis to run , I purchased and installed Version 2022. but alas it too would not run. I'm on Win 7 and I get entry point CreateDXGIfactory2 could not be located. It looks like a Directx issue.

I would rather go back to 2013 as I only use it once or twice a year for trimming videos.

I'll uninstall 2022 and reinstall 2013 and try again. Any other suggestions ?

Hi

. . . . . Any other suggestions ? . . .

As I asked previously - which codec is the program asking you to activate?

Additionally, download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips that triggers the request to activate the codec and post the results, see this tutorial if you are not familiar with MediaInfo, on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip.

I uninstalled 2022 and deleted every bit of Magix I could find, even in the regisrty. Reinstalled 2013 and refreshed K-Lite Codec Pack and after a few more, Serial Number Registrations, it is all up and working.

Just wish there was a Magix video lite. Copy, trim, join, import, export only. I dont need 1.3 GB of stuff to do what I want and probably 90% of the rest of us the same.
