Can't download from support website

rbritz1970 wrote on 7/24/2026, 11:16 PM

My laptop has died and I replaced it and proceeded to download the 2024 and 2025 versions I bought previously. Download remains at 0 on both versions attempted. I've read from previous posts from other customers that it could be Firewall or AV issues, so I went ahead and booted into a safe mode of Windows 11, made sure Windows Firewall and Defender were turned off and the issue remains. I posted all of this in a ticket 2 weeks ago but no response, so trying the forums this time for help.

Hi.

Assuming you have logged into your Magix account and got as far as the download page for your various purchases, are you saying you click on the download link and a box comes up and then nothing happens?

I have just tried to download and instal one of the programs I have with Magix but don't use and I had no problems.

The only two possibilities I can think of is you have somehow limited your web browser in the security settings or the web browser you are using will not work on the Magix website. Some web browsers don't work well with some websites.

Other than that I'm stumped.

Hi

In addition to @CubeAce comment.

Are you logging in on the new laptop with a Microsoft account?

If so, then by default OneDrive may be installed and active, if this is the case then, unless you use OneDrive for sharing files between devices, or do not need Cloud storage, not recommended, then I would suggest uninstalling OneDrive before attempting to install the Magix software, see this article on how to do this.

If you do require OneDrive, then after installing the program, you need to stop OneDrive syncing the Magix folder and its subfolders, in your Documents folder to the Cloud. See this article on how to do this.

Note:

  1. Ensure you have backups of all files and folders that have been synced to OneDrive before doing the above.

  2. If you keep and use OneDrive, ensure that you place all files used in your video projects in the non-synced Magix folder and its subfolders, and never on your desktop.

Correct, I get the download box in your reply. Press Continue/Start button, and about 15 seconds later, the greyed out Start now shows Continue and 0 percent progression. I'm just using Edge and I can download other files without problem.

No, just a local account.

Hi.

I agree with @johnebaker that One drive causes problems. I do not have it one my system. A local account serves no useful purpose for me.

I tried downloading my copy of MMS 24 Suite with no problems at an average rate of 85MB/s so I don't think it is a problem server side.

Did you do as the Microsoft site suggested and temporarily turn off One Drive?

If you did and it still did not work, try downloading Firefox and use that as that is what my web browser is.

Is your system in your signature your current system? There is no reason that should not cope.

Do you know where the program is trying to put the program on the NVMe?

The Download exe file should be 6.29MBs in size.

Have your tried right clicking the install file and run it as administrator?
