Importing video from Icecream get no vocals

When I use a a screen recorder such as IceCream Magix brings in the video but not the Audio. I get an error message which says, "Make sure the driver is not full or write protected. If you do not have authorization to write or read from this path, please contact the administrator." Any help please. Also when I use the Screen recorder in magix it also does not bring up the Audio. I do get audio when I import movies no problem. Magix 2020. AMD Rizen 32GB RAM Big SSD hard drive. I as a rule only have Magix open when using Magix.

Welcome to the Magix forums.

Thank you for the information you have provided. Unfortunately, it really isn't enough! Please read this post and give us ALL the information requested there. At the moment we don't even know exactly which variant of which Magix program you have!

In addition, since this MAY be a problem connected with Audio codecs, please download and install the free MediaInfo point it to one your IceCream files and post the results of the Text view here.

Hi Johnathan and welcome.

One thing to check, assuming you are running Win 10 and using the motherboards own sound card is that the mixer has the Stereo Mix input setting enabled. Quite often, the default setting in Win10 is off. It is needed to record any internal sounds produced by your PC while recording via a third party application.

If that is not the problem, giving the information Jeff has requested will save both us and you a lot of time.

I've done various changes to try and get the sound to work.

Firstly I've updated my Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium to the latest version being 19.0.2.49 (UDP3).

I've enabled the Stereo Mix. However, I am using an external microphone which I know works as I use it for other Magix videos and have no problem with my sound.

What I'm trying to do is record my screen with sound. Then bring this into Magix Movie to work on. However, if I use Icecream Screen Recorder and bring the file into Magix I don't have any sound even if I split the sound from the movie. I've even tried to bring the sound recording into Magix Music Editor 3 but there is no sound wave. However, the recording does work in the windows default movie player - there is sound and video.

If I try and use the built in Magix Move sound and screen recording, I get a different error message as per the screen shot below. This screen shot also shows the files brought into Magix, from Icecream Screen Recorder, without any sound wave.

From the MediaInfo data the audio data looks fine.

I assume you are using the Pro version of Icecream - is this correct?

When you installed Icecream did you allow it to install codecs? If so then this has probably change the preferred codecs that Movie Edit pro (MEP) uses, and MEP cannot use those installed by Icecream - you can try re-installing MEP and if offered select Repair.

If you did not install the codecs, have you followed this article on Icecream to set your audio recording from the mic and PC correctly.

I cannot find any information about the recording parameters for Icecream, the website, app and manual are sparse on details,.

However the MediaInfo data suggests that the frame rate is Variable (VFR) and is varying between 6 fps to 30 fps - this can lead to 'speed' issues in exported video - MEP prefers a constant framerate, AFAICS there is no option to set this.

IMHO you need to be looking at a better screen recording software or try using the MEP screen recording feature.

I played with the settings and have now gotten it to work. Still can't import IceCream video in to Magix. I can leave that for now and crack on with what I want to do.
