Serial number looks wrong

In november I bought Photostory de Luxe 2026 on the website and downloaded it after paying. I'm using Windows 11 on a desktop with a Pentium processor, 32 Gb memory and 4 harddisks, especially to edit movies. Photostory de Luxe was a useful addition.

It would have been, too, if it weren't for the annoying side effect of constantly receiving the message that the serial number has already been used.

Support tells me that the software is apparently installed on multiple PCs or laptops. That seems difficult, since I only have one PC. Every time I report this, I get the response that I have to deactivate the software on the device where I installed it. My message that I only have one PC is rejected.

So I bought software with what appears to be a serial number already assigned, but the supplier tells me to figure it out for myself.

WHO CAN HELP ME????

Welcome to the Magix users forums, and apologies for the problems you seem to be experiencing, both with the app and with the forums!

Just to be absolutely clear, you say you bought Photostory de Luxe 2026 on the website. I assume you mean the Magix website? If it was a different website can you tell us which one?

Once purchased directly from Magix you should have received an email which included a link to download the installer and the all-important serial key which is unique both to you and to the product you bought. If not purchased direct from Magix it is the seller's responsibility to supply the serial key, or, in the case of a third-party seller, a voucher code. A serial key will always begin with P3, a voucher code will not begin that way.

Have you tried the suggestion of deactivating the software on your PC, or is it the situation that because you apparently cannot use the software, presumably because activation has not been possible, that deactivation is not available to you?

Thank you for the basic information about your computer, but can you be much more specific about your processor, please, giving its make and model number? "Pentium" is a term which has been used for a considerable number of years to describe processors; I thought that such technology was now old and so no longer used?

Sorry to ask so many questions but your problem is very puzzling, if not unique!
