@me_again Hi Andy . . . . QT + Any suggestions? . . . . Easiest route is to convert the MOV files with Handbrake, to standard h.264/AAC encoding. I have batch converted all my 'normal' MOV files. For the MOV files I create with an Alpha channel, ie

[Solved] That old chestnut - Quicktime
Greetings, For years now, I've been using Quicktime Alternative 1.8.1 mainly because I occasionally use MPEG Streamclip which requires it and MS2025 works with it. During a bout of certifiable stupidity I uninstalled Qalternative. "Oops" I thought,

@johnebaker What does MediaInfo say the encoding format used in the original MOV files is I was conitnuing an edit with the alleged Cineform movs I discussed in an earlier topic on here. I thought I'd persevere with them rather than convert

.mov file is disappearing over time
I imported a .mov with transparency into my project to create a transition for my videos. Problem is, as time goes on, the .mov file doesn't show up anymore. Even rendering it out it's like it doesn't exist. I've tried workarounds, but Video Pro X

RE: Upon importing my photos, they turn to black and white or all black
@Gid, I learnt this trick using Video Studio (VS). For some reason, the program would not change the project settings if a mov file was initially dragged to the timeline. But if you change the extension from mov to mp4, VS would then generate a

RE: Audio not importing
@Gary-Beckwith Quicktime is still required for MOV files where the Format ID is identified as JPEG or PNG encoded video, it is no longer required for MOV h.264/AVC encoded import. That info will come from Mediainfo, as previously requested by John.

@Gid Of historic interest Sony Vegas Movie Studio 13 was an oddball version different in several ways from its predecessors. Under its new Magix ownership Magix Vegas Movie Studio 14 reverted back to how it used to be, much to the relief of many VMS

RE: .mov file is disappearing over time
@Joshua-Burner Hi, you can add Chroma key to a .mov file but it makes it into a mask, in theory this shouldn't be a problem but you have to allow for the consequences if there is already transparency, coloured parts will become shades of grey

RE: .mov file is disappearing over time
@Joshua-Burner ? You don't need Chroma Key for .mov's with transparency.

@james-o7579 Try recoding it with AVIDemux. I have posted instructions on my site here. Use the "MOV to MP4" procedure. It's a lossless process so you won't lose any quality; it just re-writes the header info. It would be worth shooting a short

RE: .mov file is disappearing over time
@johnebaker Hi, with respect, showing that any keying fx can be applied to a .mov with transparency in VP without problems is very relevant, it shows that this isn't a common or expected problem & that it is solely a VPX/MMS problem.
