RE: Slideshow wizard - increasing slide durations
Hi, I was under the impression that SSM would adjust the cuts to the beat of the music, so asking for 3 seconds would give approximately that. Looking in the manual and at SSM, it doesn't look that way. Terry, how do you get the cuts, even with

RE: Slideshow wizard - increasing slide durations
Hi John, Thanks, that’s an interesting set of tests. If I have a large number of photos (say over 30), the main reason that I use SSM is to reduce the time of adding individual effects. Even though I have some effects of my own, I sometimes like to

RE: Slideshow wizard - increasing slide durations
Hi Terry, The old problem remains, but its due to have effects. Using the latest patch (today) of VPX, which, I presume, uses the same SlideShow Maker version as in MEP, gave me varied results that may depend on the effects used and the music. First

RE: pictures
It is well worth while playing with the Slide show maker feature if you want some random effects. It seems very intuitive when applying zooms to photos as it automatically seems to find the main feature of the shot. It deals with Portrait pictures

RE: MEP 2017(18) Pro - Latest Update
Hi I have just updated to 15.0.2.178. . . . . Minor concern - when it loads it displays a screen asking if I want to create a new project or load an existing project. . . . . There is the new look startup - cosmetically it looks different and has

RE: MEP 2017(18) Pro - Latest Update
Update - after only an hour or so. Cannot crop using the section button in view/animation. For example, crop a 4:3 portrait from a 16:9 landscape and I end up with a section from a different area of the picture that cannot be resized using

VPX/MEP - effect to handle video filmed in portrait mode
Hi, Was I dreaming or was there not a new feature advertised for MEP 2017 a while back that would take a video shot in portrait mode, copy it to another track, and resize the one on track one to full screen and blur it. Aha, I found it in the new

Importing pics (.jpeg)
Hi I am an estate agent (realtor) and use Magix Movie Edit Pro 16 HD on an Acer 7730 laptop running Win 7. I import .jpegs in order to create a slide show and export in .mpeg4. The problem is when I import a pic that was shot by the camera in

RE: MEP 2016 setting not working?
Hi . . . . John EB, have you tried taking panoramic photos of tall buildings and stitching them? I just thought of that and have never tried it . . . . I do this often, also with landscape images when taking them I start and end the sequence with a

RE: MEP 2016 setting not working?
Terry, I noticed your penchant for time. Left the hotel at 8:13 and walked to the X-bridge, arriving at 8:39. I now just settle for the day, unless timing was important. Being an engineer, I always like to get things in the correct order, so I have

RE: MEP 2016 setting not working?
Hi Terry . . . . At 4:3 or similar, don't you get more flexibility? . . . . Depends on how many portrait images you take - me virtually none, however one advantage of 16:9 for portrait mode is tall buildings get more in especially in cities where

Hi I am assuming that you mean a photo which was taken in portrait mode when imported into Movie Edit Pro (MEP) is on its side in landscape mode and when you rotate it to the correct orientation black bars appear on both sides and the image is full

RE: VPX(8) Patch 15.0.3.138 released

RE: Border Effects to use a Portrait image in a wide/full screen video
I guess I'm finding Border Effects to animated or too busy and they detract from the narrower Portrait oriented image that I'm trying to fill out. But I added one and now I've done too much additional editing and can't get back using UNdo to remove

Browj2 - thanks for the video link. And NICE video. It definitely helped put names to some of the things I have been using like the handles. I've been fading Titles for ages and probably just forgot what they are called. Also, I've used them to

RE: Border Effects to use a Portrait image in a wide/full screen video
Thanks, everyone for commenting. It may also be true that while I just purchased what I thought the AD was showing (the newest version), that may not be the version that I wound up downloading. So the Border Effect may not be as present or as easy

Border Effects to use a Portrait image in a wide/full screen video
On the upgrade site they include a brief video showing a Portrait image with what they call Border Effects to kind of embedded the narrow portrait image into a wider-screen shot. In a way, they show the border(s) echoing aspects of the narrow image
