RE: Rotating a video in video x pro v.6. What export dimensions to use?
Hi Robert, This was a very..... well, I won't say. As per my last post, wmv also works and I checked it on my cell phone and it worked full-screen in portrait mode. My settings were like yours. Nice to know that there is software that will convert

RE: Rotating a video in video x pro v.6. What export dimensions to use?
Sorry to resurrect this post. 1) This does not work because VPX in Mp4 mode does not allow the apsect ratio to be changed to 9:16. So when moving the edited video back to the phone. It blows up.2) The original video is shot in Portrait-mode. So it

Hi . . . . to resize the aspect ratio . . . . If you do that and the scene includes people they may not be very happy with you . Resizing one AR to another ends up either making, buildings, people etc , tall and skinny or short and

RE: White flash when opening Title Editor
Thanks John, appreciate your checking both the white flash and the side issue. I just used the basic YT URL, but I'll now try your neat trick of adding a space (although I don't understand why!) But that now doesnt play! I think there's

RE: adjusting size of video MEP 2016 premium
Hi Pat, What I wanted you to see was mainly that the op wanted a portrait image to fill his landscape monitor/tv, i.e. completely full screen, with nothing cropped off and no distortion. Obviously, it can't be done unless he turns his monitor or

RE: portrait-oriented video
Unless the viewer program and the screen are like those of a cell phone, then 720 wide x 1280 tall may work. But if you want to create a DVD or view the exported movies on a normal HD wide screen tv or monitor, then you should use the normal

Hi . . . . 720 wide x 1280 tall . . . . Use Effects, Movement Effects, Rotation to rotate the image back to portrait - you can then export as portrait - setting the resolution to 720 * 1280. HTH John EB

portrait-oriented video
Hi, I'm trying X7 and setup a project as 720 wide x 1280 tall (i.e. portrait oriented) for importing mobile-phone video shot in portrait style, but the imported video is appearing rotated (-90 degrees) in the project/video monitor (horizontal).

RE: fastcut video has black space on both sides of video...how do I remove

Hi Terry. Yes, of course, you're right. What you have done is to increase the resolution of the image, without increasing its size on screen. I hope Marcus will come back on this and let us know if he now accepts that it is totally impossible

Hi Marcus, I was able to view your videos, with the same results as yours. I then installed Avidemux and repeated your conversion. My output file, After- Avidemux.mp4, was 2971 KB, versus my download of yours at 9423 KB, slightly puzzling.

Here are the screen shots from within MEP. You cannot make a 1280*720 become 720*1280 and vice versa without cropping or turning it on its side. The proportions of the image have to remain the same. You can rotate the image. If you filmed
