RE: Burning Dual Layer DVD revelation
Hi Jeff, Thanks for your in-depth and very helpful information! Interestingly, my own situation took an unusual twist! I also sometimes use ImgBurn, and burn DVD discs from Files and Folders. So, when I put in a blank DL DVD, ImgBurn said the data

RE: Burning Dual Layer DVD revelation
@discburn Hi. I have never owned or used VPX 6 but I quite regularly export projects that require a D/L DVD by first having VPX (9) create an Image File, which it does by first creating all the .vob etc. files required in a folder and then creating

    Burning Dual Layer DVD revelation
With Video Pro X6, just burned a Dual Layer DVD (Ritek Arita +R DL) on Plextor Burner. Plays back perfectly. Great! Quite by accident, I noticed that the total Disc Image file size is only 4.37GB. Before burning, VPX6 said it would be 6453MB,

RE: Subtitles without using titles? Blu-ray authoring...
vpx doesn't natively support subtitles. You would need various other programs to put it all together. - a program to create the subtitling e.g. subtitle edit (free) http://www.nikse.dk/subtitleedit/ There are many others, there are also many formats

RE: Can't Get Smart Copy to Work on MPEG2 with MEP 2015
Hi . . . . I can export an MPEG2 video, import it into a new project, and then try to export it again or burn a DVD using the same preset (with the addition of enabling Smart Copy) and no Smart Copy sources are shown in the info dialog. . . .

    RE: CANNOT EXPORT MOVIE
Hi . . . . H264 files are mp4 . . . For clarification: The MP4 file format is what is known as a container file, this means it can contain video and audio in a variety of different formats, of which h.264 is one of them. h.264 is a codec format not

Hi John, Thanks for the prompt response. Hi Terry Which version of MEP are you referring to? My usual MEPP 2016. But it was the same in MEPP 2017 16.0.4.119 (UDP3) In MEP 2018 the export from a project using the same settings as yours, plays fine

RE: Comments on November 2017 update to VPX, improvements or problems
Hi Doug . . . . It is double time but I usually do a wmv for better quality anyway. DVD is rubbish quality . . . You still end up with 'rubbish quality' once burned as DVD to disc. Exporting to WMV, loading these into a new project and burning to

    RE: Import VOB file
Hi, welcome to the Magix forums. I'm not sure why your version of MEP cannot "see" your VOB file, but one possible workaround is to change the VOB file extension to mpg. Doing this will not alter the file at all but has been known to allow video

    Import VOB file
New user. Opened Movie Edit Pro 2016 and tried to start a new project with a VOB file. The program does not recognize this file. It is not visible to select. My goal was to edit the length of the VOB file. The sound track is not my first priority

RE: burning DVD - not recognized by DVD player
Hi again. Many thanks for such a comprehensive reply; I wish all posters here were as thorough! There's nothing in your specs to suggest any obvious reason for your problems. However, it would be useful to know the size and type of your harddrive

RE: Update 15.0.4.164(UDC2) loss of function
Here is another thing I learned, if I choose the OK quickly after the export to DVD is complete, it corrupts the export, and the menu system gets all jacked up. Not only do I get the .vob files, I also get .bmp of the menu icons, along with other

RE: DVD burning problems again MEP 16
Hi, Have you tried to burn a disc image from this project? (The option is Image Recorder on the burn screen, if you're not sure where to select this option.) Personally, I always produce DVDs using this option, and then use a 3rd party burning app

Hi Did you copy all the files in the Video TS folder or just the VOB's - you need all the files and the video should appear as 1 movie called Movie 1 in the MEP Media pane. You should be able to copy just the VOB you want. I did it by navigating via

Hi . . . . .DVD with Video TS format had to be ripped with Handbrake to convert into mp4 which Magix should be able to read. . . . I presume you mean the files on the disc have a .ts ( or .mts ) file extension not .vob. If so then they should import

    RE: Poor image previewer
Hi Sander The .VOB files from the Video TS folder should be able to be dragged straight onto the MEP timeline from the DVD disk and then edited and exported in whatever format you want. If that does not seem to be working a tip is to copy the file

Hi John, I meant DVD/CD Player. It is a TSSTcorpCDDVDW SH-244GB ATA Device. I am trying to improve the definition on a 2 minute test video. I had the chance a few years ago to use Proshow Producer which resulted in high quality DVDs. Exporting Mpg-4

Another thing is that having a standard cd-rom I can only burn to the two star setting and the definition as rotten. I also made an image file (VOB) to a directory on the HDD and the definition of the file is the same as that burned.
