Hi AFAIK no CD would write at such a low speed. Tthe 4x recording speed on both computers would suggest you are trying to burn to DVD or DVD RW discs!! The only other possibility is that you have a bad batch of CDs, or counterfeit

Error with CD Writing
I have created two audio files which I have transferred from tape, the longest one being about 68 minutes. When exporting and trying to write to CD after a few seconds I get the error message: X Cannot write to disc - >Write error

DVD drive will read a DVD disc. CD-ROM only drive will will not A combined CD-ROM / DVD RW means it reads and writes both formats, I suspect you don't have a DVD reader or Writer in your PC, they are filthy cheap, about £15

I have the same problem. After an HOUR of burning an 18min film, I get an ERROR in the final writing stages? My computer blacks out and seems to go dark - wireless shuts off... then discs pops out with ERROR message.
