@johnebaker Hi John EB Yes the Zebra stripes in video is very useful and again depends a lot upon the bit depth some cameras shoot at. Some cameras that did video in the past have been very low in bit depth but didn't advertise it. For stills I

@Scenestealer Hi Peter. Thank you for such a comprehensive look and reply. So a bit more background for you. Although I have the main concept MP4 encoder I have not found it to be better than the one supplied with MEP so far, so I haven't used it

RE: Any problems to expect if upgrading CPU/MB/ and operating system?
Yes, you certainly need to dig a little to get a proper picture, and that is with a pretty good prior knowledge of the programs. Talk about variations - I only just noticed in the MEP program comparison matrix that the Standard version, which also

@CubeAce @johnebaker @wongck Hi The document Ray has linked to is quite recent on the English site but it has been discussed a bit in the German forum for a little longer. I agree that the information on making sure both GPU's are available would

@CubeAce Hi Ray . . . . I think it would have been certainly useful and relevant information for my PC build . . . . I do not think it would have helped you with export hardware acceleration - did you notice the crucial word in the first paragraph

Sync issue with MEP 17 and variable bit rate mpegs.
Hi The imported video is variable bit rate 720 x480, 29.97 fps (which i see from other topics may be a problem) and the audio is 224 kbs , 48 khz 2 channel AC-3. Sound seems on pace but the video looks quite accelerated in the editor and when burned

@CubeAce The Intel driver for graphics is currently 25.20.100.6374 The NVIDIA driver version is 24.21.13.9924 They appear to be up to date. Can not be..... they are probably over a year old! What is telling you they are current? It would pay to

RE: Any problems to expect if upgrading CPU/MB/ and operating system?
@CubeAce Hi Ray . . . . The new power supply has a half power switch which would be useful if it was on the back of the unit and not the front. What use is that! . . . . None, IMHO is is an extra switch to push ie a bit of a gimmick. The power pack

@johnebaker I think you misunderstand John. I was quoting the bit rate of the MPEG-4 source files. They are normally around 80Mbps but can go as high as 100Mbps depending on the camera settings. Example : GeneralComplete
