RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
@CubeAce @Scenestealer @johnebaker @pmikep I'm not sure how "useful" my figures will prove to be, but here goes anyway... First, a couple of caveats: My system has NO UHD hardware installed. And only one monitor, also not UHD. I ran these tests in

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
@pmikep Some thoughts on benchmark videos: I don't have the patience to wait for a 15 minute decode, especially since MEP doesn't report the Elapsed Time after the video is done. I tend to agree that Ray's project is not ideal as a standard but

Okay, final results: (Update: All with Win10 Graphic Settings set to the UHD for MEP.) Best time was with Nvidia set as Display Monitor, no VFX on GPU =18:16 Then same, but with VFX on GPU =22:18. Slower. So calculating VFX on GPU here made things

@johnebaker @Scenestealer Hi John. My best export time was 15 minute 45 seconds John under the conditions mentioned above. Have not tried an export to a lower resolution as yet. There is no use of dynamic titling in the project. Type faces I think

@Scenestealer Hi Peter. Taking your last point first. Both were in use when I got the lowest export times. I've no idea why but with one or the other not ticked the export times were slower. I am now getting even more confused while trying to setup

RE: Moving/slotting images and transitions in Timeline Mode
On the "Return to Select Object Mode" - I was thinking a user settable timer. Like, if you haven't continued to do ripple edits for 15 seconds, it reverts back to Single Object. MEP could "ding" to let you know it reverted back to Single. OR -

Hi all. Prelude. This is going to be lengthy, so please bear with me. You may find it interesting or complete rubbish. First I'd like to say that the moderators here and few regular contributors are very knowledgeable and have helped /are still

@Scenestealer@Scenestealer @pmikep @LeCanadien Hi Peter. I think it may be the other way around. The box with the tick in it is not greyed out but may be locked in. Why else would I keep getting readings that it is in use? I have found ways and

@CubeAce, @Scenestealer Hi Ray Ray - it looks like we are talking at cross purposes here - I am referring to exporting, the settings you are looking at are for Preview in arranger if I set this to the RTX 2060 then I do see about 15-17% activity

    RE: MEP System Requirements
@LeCanadien I made one mistake above. I should have said I regularly use 15 gigs of ram for 15 minute projects not 5 minute. Here is a screenshot of how MEP is using my system. I would also add get a decent CPU cooler. Run a processor hot and it

I'm glad John warned you that you will not be happy with an AMD based system. I purposely bought a used Dell with an i3-8100 in it just so I could try MEP again. ($300 USD on Amazon.) The 8th gen CPU's have the same iGPU as the 9th gen, the UHD

@William-Murphy Hi Thanks for the clip I have run a MediaInfo analysis and ( @CubeAce are you clairvoyant?) it has 2 stereo audio streams muxed into the video and I suspect that it is this that is causing the issue. When imported into MEP there is

RE: Audio problem with playback of old .avi files
@William-Murphy I tried this file in VPX11, MEP2019, MEP2016 and all have the sound problems. In Magix Sound Forge Cleaning Lab, no problem except that it ran at the wrong speed. I tried in Pinnacle Studio 23U and Vegas 15 Edit, no problem with the

Terry- I now discover I can open the file with good sound with VLC 2.1.5, RealPlayer, Quicktime, and Win Media Player. For whatever reason, just not MEP 19.0.1.31. Your post made me think to go back to open MEP 15.0.0.114 and the problem existed

RE: Is my result a typical benchmark? (UHD 630 HW encode)
Okay, as a "sanity check," I just encoded the same 2.5 minute 4K video of puppies on version 15 of a competitor's encoder, known for winning all the speed awards. It did the video in 1 min, 40 seconds, using "Hardware Acceleration," which is well

@johnebaker Hi John. UHD? 3,840 x 2,160p? Why doesn't the top left hand box show your Intel GPU? Mine always had since activating MEP. Having said that my present setup looked like this. So I changed it to resemble your image to this. But on my

@CubeAce Hi Ray @wongck's comment is correct the UHD 630 iGPU's maximum power draw is ~15W compared the the RTX 2060's ~180W 😱. So far in testing with MEP and VPX, in terms of speed performance per Watt the UHD 630 beats the RTX 2060, it is

@CubeAce Hi Ray I have been playing with the Tech Talk project and, found the following: AFAICS - the Intro/Outro's are not hardware accelerated on the UHD 630 iGPU. With the UHD project, 3840 x 2160 50 fps, the render rate drops down to about 0.5

@johnebaker @CubeAce And here are the 2 for Music Maker - Control and Performer: About adjusting for music, whether or not you have MEP or VPX, it's still a chore. I'm trying to put music to a 25 minute video using Magix Soundpool loops in
