RE: Problem importing avi file into Movie Edit Pro 2016.
Hi AVI is a container file format ie the there is no AVI codec. A 'container' file format can contain any video and audio codec and if the required codecs are not on your computer then you cannot open the video files in MEP.  In your case

RE: Opinions for Best Export for damaged files
Hi Kami Personally I would not use uncompressed AVI as an export - apart from the massive increase in file size you are not gaining anything visually over a mxv or mp4 file. A mxv file is not as compressed as a mp4 and does enable better

RE: Video size is huge after avi exporting
AVI is not a format itself, it's a so called "container" that may contain everything, depending on the codecs that were used... So AVI may be huge or small or something in between... AVI is becoming old fashioned. If you want smaller files, you

RE: Preview Rendering and Timeline appearance (MEP 2016)
Hi Kami I had set the Configuration to Best performance for DVD.  The only audio option is "extract audio when creating proxy files," which was checked by default. I was suggesting unchecking it as it creates a WAV file out of the original

RE: Fuzzy Text with MEP 2016
Hi John, No downsizing.  I'm still recording mostly SD, 4x3 ratio.  The samples were exported to mpg2.  I used the default settings:   Resolution: 720x480, Frame rate 29.97, Ratio:  "Auto"; Quality: 12: Interlace: bottom field first; "Standard

I had those options enabled yes, The .AVI file was at capped 60 however the enconded video inside the avi was variable, the exported version was locked both ways. I am using dxtory and openencodevfw , Dxtory sadly only uses .avi but I think

    RE: Jerky Video after encoding
Hi For  VPX 6 in Programs Settings, System tab there is an option to select the preferred codec for import and export of H.264.  I would expect VPX 7 to be the same. However there may be a fee for the Main Concept codec. . . . . . advised

Hi . . . . Tried this but not getting an xvid or Divx option . . . . Do you mean you are not getting the option as shown in the image below or not getting the .divx file extension? Note - you must export as AVI file to get the XVid encoding

Hi John C.B. The first example is simply the objects exported with a transparent background. This is what I assume to be a video with an alpha channel. Is this correct? Peter, is this what you mean by an avi with an alpha channel? Maybe,

@Terry and John EB, Did you find any other way than what I described? Any way to remove the black halo around the moving bright light other than using an alpha mask? I tried making my first lower third.I've been saving this for quite a while.

RE: Exporting to a .divx file
Install the DivX codec and then export to an AVI file using that codec. The encoder is included as a free evaluation copy.

I am new here, so apologies if I should start a new thread, but I am having the exact same problem.  I recently bought an HP ENVY 17-k251na 17.3” Laptop for the sole purpose of editing home videos.  I created a short 7 minute video of our dogs on

Hi Terry Thanks for the file. I converted it in VLC 2.0.8 and it imported into MEP 2014 OK then when I noticed I did not have the Auto settings you mentioned - . . . . Re the scaling, I'd originally left that unaltered, with Auto in all 3

RE: Video thumbnails are green. How can I fix this?
Resolved it myself. My original video files are MP4 and I convert them to AVI as Magix won't let me view them as thumbnails or apply effects or do simple crossfades with the MP4s. My converter is ANY Video and the newer versions use a codec that
