I am not sure but I guess Vocoder is in the MMM 17 Premium version because it is in the Music Maker 16 Premium version but not in the standard version of MMM 16. As I use MMM 16 Premium I can advice according to that please try and see. You

Hi, MMM 16 got limited features as compare to MMM 16 Premium. But you can still use vocoder and even you can use add style button. I guess you are using MMM 16 in Easy mode. To see all features you should turn off easy mode. Look at top left

If you are only looking at the soundpools or LIVID, then yes they are pre-made beats. Make sure you are not in Easy Mode. The switch is the boxes just below the MAGIX logo in the top left corner. If you want to create your own beats
