RE: Creating a Section in MEP2022 21.0.1.104 (Post now includes 119)
Yes I am also seeing this issue with the latest version MEP Working with DV-AVI Files. To be fair though the issue was somewhat there in the older version of both MEP and VPX. though not as bad. In particular when I select section > Free

@Patrick-Coffey Hi Pat. None of the current programs are being sold as marked ready for Win 11 yet so Win 10 is the best operating system to have for Magix products. The first thing you should do is check if your computer system is powerful enough

RE: What should I be setting for bit rate, etc. for max export quality?
Also, I can't see any option to change from AVC1 (H.264) to VP09 or AV1 in the export settings of VPX13. Correct. I'm not aware of any readily available VP9 or AV1 encoders. Youtube determines. In my experience, you need a minimum of 1440P 50FPS to

RE: Cleaning up source VHS video data, noise, frame slipping etc -
@g4bee I will second Jeff's comments re noise reduction using Neat Video: it is amazing. I have experimented with denoising with Virtual Dub and seen some brilliant efforts of others using AVISynth, but for ease of use, Neat Video is the way to go.

RE: Cleaning up source VHS video data, noise, frame slipping etc -
@g4bee I do quite a lot of VHS to digital transfers for clients and, to add to the excellent advice that @CubeAce has given would suggest:For picture noise, IMO by far the "best" tool for removing at least the majority of this is NeatVideo. It

RE: Aspect Ratio and Movie name problems
@clement5 Hi . . . . The 5:4 ratio is not technically a discrepancy as 720x576 is the standard PAL size for DVDs which on the old TVs would be interpreted as 4:3. The same thing is true of 720x480NTSC 3:2. . . . . The interpretation of the AR for

RE: Aspect Ratio and Movie name problems
@johnebaker John, all my VHS captures have been 5:4. In MEP 2022, (as I have said above) you get black pillarboxing of that 5:4 file unless you click "Original Size" in Size and Position Rotation. Then the file displays correctly and will export

@CubeAce The quality of transfers from tapes recorded in the eighties would be close to being unusable now due to degrading magnetic flux or glue bindings between substrate and tape. Ray, not true at all. Many of us are still happily transferring

RE: Aspect Ratio and Movie name problems
@clement5 @johnebaker There seems to be something odd going on here with MEP 2022 (on my other computer). MEP2021 seems to import a 720x576 5:4 video into a 4:3 movie correctly: Whereas MEP 2022 doesn't import it correctly. When "Movie Size" is
